Little Houses on the Black River©are self-sustaining, ecological flat-pack houses designed by faculty and students from Parsons for use as seasonal residences and a meeting place for designers and researchers at Formens Hus (House of Design), an education and research center in Hallefors, Sweden.

Stefanie led product design students through this year long project. The two sliding dwellings providing sleeping and study quarters. The fixed structure accommodates a kitchen and a bathroom which uses solar panels and a dry toilet.

IKEA donated products, materials and components and students transformed these products into light fixings, interior fittings such as a stepladder, storage units and outdoor furniture.
